A net-zero, super energy efficient, new build on a very small lot; the Ownbey Residence is a cutting edge design that combines sustainable design technology with the sensibilities of building within a historic district. Together with owners Ray and ShruDeLi, builders Mark Haslam and Greg Hillis of Sausage, our resident genius / egghead engineer Jared Campbell, and all the great subs-contractors, built a home that is a leading example of how good design may contribute rather than consume.
Entering the Sequel Salon is akin to being on the runway, where you are the center of attention. In a collaborative effort between owners, Michael and Darrin, and contractor Will Peterson; Kathryn Anderson and I co-designed a space that offers an atmosphere of indulgence and where clients take center stage.
As an employee at Pollard Architects, I had the privilege of being the project architect for this spectacular home, where the entire office, led by Ken, designed and detailed nearly every aspect, inside and out. A true collaboration between our very generous clients Jeff and Camille and our contractor Bret Vargason – Camco Construction, we created a hillside home that unfolds from the adjacent mountainside to the city views beyond.
Salt Lake Film Society
Combining the experience of seeing art house films with a welcoming platform for meeting and gathering was our ambition. Designer, Rachel Hodson, contractor Tim Hertig and myself, along with the entire crew at the film society, took this old 80’s pink and blue lobby and turned it into a place for conversation and exchanging ideas.
